FADED GLORIES

Several years ago, while living in Amsterdam, I went to dispose of some wilted flowers, which were sitting on the table. As I carried them to the trash, I was looking at them and observed that the dried petals had a texture and quality that reminded me of some beautiful hand-made silk flowers that I had seen in a shop in Milan, Italy where I had lived previously.
I thought that these textures might be interesting to photograph. So I set out to find an interesting combination of background and lighting which brings out the hidden beauty of these “past their prime” beauties. Little did I realize that I was embarking on a project, which would take several years, and continues to this day!
The outcome of my Faded Glories adventure is a collection of beautiful images that are available as prints. They are available in sizes ranging from 12” X 12” to 44” X 44”, both framed as well as unframed. The larger prints really highlight the detail and look very impressive.
